Rana June works at the intersection of data, art, and analysis as the founder and CEO of Lightwave. As a technologist, she bridged the divide between wearable technology and next-generation sentiment analytics by building Lightwave, an interactive biometric data platform.
Over the past five years, Lightwave's emotion technology has captured the world's imagination. From inspiring physical installations to premium research studies, our unique end-to-end process incorporates biofeedback into experiences, including heart rate and facial coding. Lightwave's award-winning bioanalytics technology has delivered countless extraordinary experiences and pioneering content for premium clients including Pepsi, Adobe, Unilever, 20th Century Fox, Google, eBay, Jaguar and many more.
As an artist, June defined the space for iPad music production and performance as “the iPad DJ.” She has performed more than 200 concerts for nearly 100,000 attendees and has been the headlining artist at events such as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, TED, and the X Prize Foundation.
June is also the author of the book Mobilize, which examines the first 500 days of the App Store and Apple's mobile success.
